Jared Leiderman

Jared Leiderman graduated from Swarthmore College with High Honors in 2005, where he majored in Religion and held minors in Peace & Conflict Studies and English Literature. As a 2006 Insight Fellow, Jared explored the application of negotiation theory for social profit, specifically in situations of violent conflict and international development.  At the International Criminal Court, he used effective communication theory to enhance relationships between the Court and senior international mediators.  During his second international placement in northern Uganda, Jared served as a consultant for the USAID-funded Northern Uganda Peace Initiative, assisting an intra-regional framework for community-based reconciliation.  Finally, he focused on strengthening Jordanian civil society organizations by providing negotiation and conflict management workshops, developing long-term strategies for a Jordanian NGO, and assisting a networking forum between regional NGOs and the Jordanian Parliament.

Currently, Jared is furthering his study of negotiation and social enterprise by pursuing a Master of Public Policy degree at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, where he was awarded a Catherine B. Reynolds Foundation Fellowship in Social Entrepreneurship.
