World Economic Forum Names Patrick McWhinney Among 2009 Young Global Leaders
The World Economic Forum (The Forum) recently selected Boston entrepreneur Patrick McWhinney, Co-founder and CEO of Insight Partners and Insight Collaborative, to join its exclusive group of 2009 Young Global Leaders (YGL). Announced each year in Geneva, Switzerland, this annual award recognizes outstanding young leaders from around the world for their professional accomplishments, commitment to society and potential to contribute to shaping the future of the world.
McWhinney was bestowed the prestigious YGL designation due to his longstanding commitment to improve lives by helping individuals and organizations create value while improving working relationships. As an expert in negotiation and communication, he has taught thousands of people worldwide to resolve conflict more effectively. He has worked closely with the Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court in The Hague on the development of internal staff and the strategic management of key relationships. He worked extensively in Argentina, Israel and the U.S. to empower teenagers to resolve disputes through non-violent means, and has mediated or enabled the mediation of hundreds of disputes in the U.S. His extensive coaching and training of corporate executives of Fortune 500 companies complements his work with the non-profit Insight Collaborative, which has helped governments, NGOs, non-profits, small companies, individuals and groups of otherwise underserved populations manage conflict more effectively.
